Music, Media and Performance
A wide range of full time courses is available, with options for A Level and vocational study. Most of these courses are delivered at the Gorseinon campus, the vocational courses in Music Performance are taught at our Llwyn y Bryn campus in the Uplands area of Swansea.
Students are able to develop existing skills and explore new areas on these exciting courses, encouraged by experienced specialist staff - many of whom continue to work professionally within their discipline. Purpose-built studios and workshops provide an environment which prepares learners for higher education or a career in their chosen field.
Regular public performance opportunities and showcases allow students to demonstrate their talents.
Creative Arts Student of the Year: Brenna Simpson
Not only did Brenna achieve A,B,C in her A Levels last year but she has since progressed onto the BTEC Performing Arts Acting course where she has been predicted a distinction. She is also completing an Extended Project for Psychology and she has been predicted an A*. She is a member of Class Act Theatre School and has recently been accepted to perform with West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company.
Over 18? Want to apply to University or Drama College?
The College offers an intensive one year Performing Arts course in Acting, designed for students (aged 18 plus) who have completed a three A Level programme which includes Drama or Dance or an Extended Diploma in Performing Arts, and are aiming to apply to specialist Drama, Dance or Musical Theatre Colleges or University to study one of these disciplines.
During the year students will further develop their performance skills under the guidance of highly experienced Performing Arts practitioners, many of whom continue to work within the Industry, in the preparation for auditions and in the rehearsal of public performances. Recent graduates of these programmes have gained places in ArtsEd, Bristol Old Vic, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Italia Conti, RADA, E15. LAMDA, Performers, Mountview, London Studio Centre, and a range of prestigious Universities. Some have progressed to professional theatre and television work.
