College in the running for more accountancy awards

Updated 07/02/2017

Gower College Swansea has been nominated in three categories at an upcoming awards ceremony organised by PQ Magazine, a publication specifically for part qualified accountants.

The college has been nominated in the categories of:

  • NQ (Newly Qualified) Student of the Year (student Dani Williams who works for McAllister & Co in Swansea)
  • Training Manager/Workplace Mentor of the Year (Jayne Walker) and
  • Accountancy Personality of the Year (Curriculum Leader Paul Sizer)

“We are absolutely delighted to receive these nominations,” says Paul. “Last year we were named Accountancy College of the Year (Public Sector) at the event so it would be fantastic to take another trophy – or three! – home with us again.”

Gower College Swansea has a well proven track record when it comes to delivering professional qualifications such as accountancy. In fact, it is the only FE college in the UK to be awarded the highly sought-after platinum approved learning partner status by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as a result of its commitment to training and student support.

The nominees will find out if they have been successful when they attend the awards evening at the Café De Paris, London on 21 February alongside Gower College Swansea Principal Mark Jones, Learning Area Manager Bruce Fellows and Dani’s employer Sandra McAllister.
