GCS celebrates sporting success

It’s been another very eventful and successful few weeks for Gower College Swansea Sport:

Alice Reynolds won the European Archery Tournament (IFAA) over three days in Valencia, competing against archers from all over the world including Youth Olympic medallists and eventually breaking her own Welsh record, breaking the European record and taking gold!

Welsh Colleges

  • Our Girls Football team are now Welsh Colleges Champions after beating Merthyr College 1-0 in the final at Cardiff and Vale College
  • Our ILS Boys Football team became Welsh Colleges ‘Ability Counts’ Champions for the third year running
  • A Level student Hari Pachu became the Welsh Colleges Male Golf Champion after competing in Harlech
  • Our Netball team have also been named as Welsh Colleges Champions for the third year running – and will now represent Wales in the AOC Championships in 2017

Curriculum Leader Marc O'Kelly was recently interviewed by BBC Radio Wales and discussed student Keelan Giles and other very successful sporting alumni (from about 1min 22 seconds in).
