National success for art students

Gower College Swansea students have performed exceptionally well in various art, design and technology competitions at the National Urdd Eisteddfod.

Amy Spencer, Foundation Diploma Art and Design student, took First prize in the 'Fashion 19-25' category.

Bethan Dowding, also on the FD Art and Design course, took First prize in the 'Create an Artefact 19-25' category

Alice Samuel, who is taking an A Level in Fine Art, took Third prize in the 'Art under 19' category.

"This is a fantastic achievement for Amy, Bethan and Alice as the competition was of an extremely high standard," says the college's Bilingual Officer Anna Davies. "Their successful pieces will now be exhibited at the National Urdd Eisteddod in Caerphilly from 25-30 May and I'd encourage everyone to go along and see for themselves the talent on display."
