College Netball Academy joins Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay

Members of Gower College Swansea's Netball Academy team took part in the recent Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay in Swansea.

As winners of a Swansea Sports Award in 2016, the team were invited to accompany the Baton Bearer during Leg 6* of the Relay, which took place between Blackpill and the 360 Beach and Watersports Centre. 

"This was a great honour for the team and we were delighted to be a part of such a momentous event," says Curriculum Leader for Sport, Sarah Lewis. "Everyone really enjoyed walking alongside the Baton Bearer and travelling along the promenade on the Land Train."

* The Baton Relay was made up of 11 Legs, starting at Knab Rock at 7.30am and finishing at the National Waterfront Museum at approximately 10:30am.
