Updated 10/04/2014

Two Level 3 Health and Social Care students from Gower College Swansea excelled themselves at the recent All Wales Skills Final of the Advanced Competition for Caring, held at the Deeside campus of Coleg Cambria, coming second at the end of a full day of competition.

Branwen Adnan and Sabina Miah were required to respond to two case studies and also complete an online knowledge assessment. The case study element of the competition involved role play, simulating the care needs for individuals, who were played by actors.

Kelly Nedin, the Curriculum Leader for Health and Social Care, was delighted with the students’ performance: “Those competing on the day were required to demonstrate excellent practical skills and the two learners who represented Gower College Swansea did extremely well to gain second place.”
