Overview

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed or self-employed nail technician.

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician such as providing and maintaining nail enhancements, manicure treatments, health and safety and client care.

Throughout the year you will develop your practical skills and have your skills assessed in a realistic working environment.

Within the qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health & safety and client care and communication.

Provide Manicure Treatment
Provide Pedicure Treatment
Provide and Maintain Nail Enhancements
Client Care and Communication in Beauty Related Industries
Follow Health and Safety Practice in the Salon.

Key information

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy OR a successful interview
Applicants whose first language is not English will need to have an ESOL Level 1 qualification.

Continuous practical assessment, exams and written assignments.

Students will be expected to undertake home study, including written and practical coursework.

Career opportunities as a junior nail technician, include working in a commercial nail salon, retail concession nail bar, or an independent self-employed mobile or home-based setting.

Learners are required to purchase a kit and uniform as part of their course. Costs will be confirmed during interview.
