Talented students and staff from Gower College Swansea were recently selected to exhibit their artwork at the Mission Gallery, as part of an innovative project that has united artists and creatives in the local area.

Join us for an extraordinary showcase of talent and creativity at the Summer Art Exhibition, featuring the exceptional work of A Level and Vocational Level 3 learners from Gower College Swansea! This series of exhibitions provides a platform for the next generation of artists and designers to express their perspectives on various themes and issues.

Our students had particular success at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandovery last week. Over 60 students in all competed in various stage and homework competitions. Gower College Swansea was the most successful further education college in Wales this year.

Welcome to our Visual Arts Right Here, Right Now Exhibitions

In the first term of their courses, our Art and Design Level 3 and Foundation Diploma students were busy creating some excellent pieces for their first exhibition of the academic year, based on the theme Right Here, Right Now.

Four Gower College Swansea students have been presented with prizes for the under 18 category of the 9to90 Creative Community Portrait Competition.

The annual competition, organized by Jane Simpson of GSArtists, gives the community an opportunity to come together from all ages and abilities and to have their work exhibited in the gallery. This year, however, the exhibition was virtual and the theme was actor Rob Brydon, with Brydon and his family judging the entries.

Seven Gower College Swansea students have medalled in the Media and Creative category of Skills Competition Wales.

Congratulations to Pariyah, a band consisting of Jasmin Eagles, Dylan Hodges, Alexa Jones-Young, Matthew Thirwell and Eleri Van Block in the Popular Music competition; Leah Jones in the Visual Merchandising competition and Wiktoria Nebka in the Fashion Design and Technology competition.

A Gower College Swansea Foundation Degree Fashion and Textile Design student was recently shortlisted in the prestigious idott competition.

Sheeza Ayub’s work was one of over 1000 individual entries submitted to the competition from art and design students based in the UK and across Europe.

Talented artists, photographers and designers from Gower College Swansea have celebrated the end of the academic year with a series of exhibitions across the city.

The A Level Art and Design showcase took place at the Swansea Grand Theatre’s Arts Wing and featured the work of students on a range of courses including textile design, graphic communication, fine art and photography, which are all taught at the Gorseinon campus.
