Employability programme celebrates second birthday
Gower College Swansea’s employability programme - Better Jobs, Better Futures - is celebrating a second highly successful year of delivery.
Since it launched, the programme has supported over 1500 individuals seeking new or better employment - individuals like Dave, who was underemployed in seasonal roles and struggling with anxiety after a traumatic life event forced him to give up his previous career in London.

Rebecca was studying A Levels and a Level 3 AAT course at the College when she first visited Better Jobs, Better Futures with the aim of becoming an accountant.
Swansea people securing better employment thanks to College scheme
A programme designed to strengthen Swansea’s workforce has supported nearly 400 people and 80 businesses across the city during its first six months in operation.
Better Jobs, Better Futures, which is run by Gower College Swansea, was established to improve Swansea’s overall employment prospects through a mixture of one-to-one employability support for individuals and dedicated workforce and recruitment advice for businesses.
Swansea workforce programme continues growth
A new programme designed to strengthen Swansea’s workforce has welcomed several new appointments to its team.
Better Jobs, Better Futures, which is run by Gower College Swansea, has taken on a number of new staff within their Workforce and Recruitment teams to further develop their support for local businesses.
Louise Dempster, Beth Fisher, Zoe Williams, and Mark James join the team as Workforce Advisers, assisting local employers to expand and strengthen their workforce, providing them with personalised support and advice.
Better Jobs and Better Futures on horizon for Swansea
Gower College Swansea is launching a brand new initiative aimed at maximising employability and in-work progression in the Swansea area.
The Better Jobs, Better Futures programme will work alongside the college’s existing upskilling programmes to support unemployed people in finding work, while helping those already in employment to secure better jobs through individually tailored advice and mentoring.
