Oxford and Cambridge admissions tests
We are aware that some of our learners experienced significant technical issues with their recent Oxford and Cambridge admissions tests.
These were national issues, experienced by candidates across the UK.
Technical disruptions impacted the tests which were taken online, in particular the Math Admissions Test (MAT) and the English Literature Admissions Test (ELAT).
The Universities of Oxford and Cambridge are fully aware of this situation.

12 Gower College Swansea students heading to Oxbridge
Twelve A Level students from Gower College Swansea have been offered places to study at Oxford or Cambridge University in 2020.
These students are all following the Oxbridge Programme at the Gorseinon Campus, which aims to provide the best possible preparation for students aiming to progress to Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.

Oxford college expands outreach initiative to Swansea
Students at Gower College Swansea have taken part in a brand new initiative that aims to attract more young people from state schools to the University of Oxford.
Around 80 A Level students attended the recent Step Up workshop at the Gorseinon Campus which was led by Head of Outreach at New College, Oxford - and former student of Gower College Swansea - Daniel Powell.
College launches HE+ and Seren Academy for 2019
Gower College Swansea has welcomed over 400 learners to the Gorseinon campus for the launch of the HE+ programme and Seren Academy for 2019/20.
Gower College Swansea, at the invitation of and in collaboration with, the University of Cambridge, is the ‘hub’ institution in the Swansea HE+ Consortium, working with the seven state sixth-form schools in the City and County of Swansea.
Pupils encouraged to ‘aim high’ at College event

Former student returns to head up College Oxbridge programme
A familiar face is set to return to Gower College Swansea.
Fiona Beresford, who studied A Level History, English and Maths at the Gorseinon campus, has been appointed as the College’s brand new Oxbridge/HE+ Coordinator.
After completing her A Levels in 2009, Fiona attended Churchill College, Cambridge where she achieved a First in History before beginning a teaching career.
Top universities talk attracts 200 students to college
Almost 200 young people recently gathered at Gower College Swansea’s Gorseinon campus to gain specialist advice on applying to top universities.
The talk, given by Dr Jonathan Padley, Fellow and Admissions Tutor at Churchill College Cambridge, focussed on how to put together a strong application when applying to an Oxbridge or Russell Group institution.
