A very warm welcome to our rugby scholars this year: 

Kian Hire (Gold Scholar) – studying Electrical Installation, previously Pontarddulais Comprehensive School

Congratulations to the College's Rugby Academy who have won the U18s Ospreys cup to go alongside their Welsh Colleges victory

GCS student shortlisted for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year

Gower College Swansea student Keelan Giles (centre) has been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year 2016.

This is a fantastic achievement for Keelan, who completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport and was a key member of the college's Rugby Academy.

The winner will be presented with their award on BBC One's The One Show on Wednesday, 14 December (19:00 GMT).

A fantastic weekend for college at AOC National Championships!

Gower College Swansea is celebrating after a fantastic weekend at the AoC National Championships in Newcastle. 

There were over 2000 students in attendance, with the Welsh team consisting of 180 (57 of these were from Gower College Swansea - the biggest representation from a Welsh college.)

A huge congratulations to all the staff and students who were involved in this wonderful weekend of sport! The Welsh successes were:

Rugby Academy scoops WRU Elite Colleges League Trophy

Gower College Swansea’s Rugby Academy has scooped the WRU Elite Colleges League Trophy, having won all but three games this year.

“This win is an excellent achievement for the team and was one of the targets we set ourselves at the start of the season,” says lecturer Dan Cluroe.

The Academy’s successful year has been topped off with seven of their 1st XV players representing the Ospreys U18’s in the final of the regional age grade competition, where they beat the Cardiff Blues convincingly.
