That’s what we were called by a newspaper food critic and we couldn’t agree more! The Vanilla Pod is where the chefs and front of house staff of the future learn their trade.
It’s easy to forget you’re eating in our training restaurant with the fine dining menus, well-cooked food and excellent service but this really is where we nurture the country’s future Michelin-star chefs!
All dishes are prepared, cooked and served by our full time hospitality and catering students under the watchful eye of lecturers who spent many years learning their own craft in the kitchens of some top restaurants.

Themed / Gourmet Evenings
Celebrating special calendar events, food from around the world and fine dining, we can guarantee you’re in for a gastronomical experience with these evenings. With specially designed menus, drinks and sometimes a cocktail thrown in, they are excellent value for money. Gourmet evenings are £25 per person while the themed evenings start at £20. We’ve dined on food from Wales, China and Ireland, paid homage to Fair Trade, and marked Dydd Santes Dwynwen and Valentine’s Day. Whet your appetite by looking at some of our sample menus.
