About homestay

Our international students, who are usually aged between 16 and 18, come from countries all over the world such as China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Thailand, Japan, South Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Botswana and European countries including Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

Homestay is an excellent way for our students to experience British culture and improve English language skills, which is vitally important for their studies.

We aim to provide a good match between the student and their host family. We introduce them to each other before they arrive in the country so they can discuss their likes, dislikes and interests.

Each student will have their own bedroom, with storage and study space, as well as having access to laundry facilities. Breakfast and evening meals will be provided during the week with three meals at weekends and holiday periods. Host families will cater for any specific needs or requests where reasonable and will treat the student as part of their family, whilst respecting their privacy and wishes.

Many of our hosts are very experienced and have enjoyed sharing their homes with students from all over the world and still keep in touch with former students. Host families provide a vital link between the student, the College and their families at home and assist them in gaining their independence and social skills needed for life at university in the UK.
