Course Overview
This course will provide you with a thorough grounding in maths skills and techniques.
There are rigorous exercises and homework that consolidate the techniques and skills you learn in class.
Areas of study include pure mathematics, mechanics and statistics.

Entry Requirements
Grade A in GCSE Mathematics from the higher tier (grade B from the higher tier may be considered.
Course Delivery
Formative assessments consists of classroom exercise and homework that students are required to do to consolidate the techniques and skills that they learn in class.
They also do tests under examination conditions to prepare themselves for the external examinations.
Final formal assessment consists of 1.5 hours written papers that they take in each of the three modules studied for the A2 Mathematics qualification.
Progression Opportunities
An A Level in Mathematics is a requirement for many university courses. Students can progress to higher education institutions.

Students will need a Casio fx-991 EX calculator.
There will be opportunities to attend occasional talks on Mathematical topics organised by various institutions, one of which is Swansea University Mathematics Department.
