This course will encourage you to further explore and experiment with a range of glass techniques and surface applications, materials tools and including warm glass techniques. You will be taught ancient glass forming techniques and work with ceramic pigments. This is a real chance to get creative and build on your skills if you have completed a previous course.
Your tutor will encourage you develop your own craetive practice and mentor you whilst you create your own unique project. This could by experimenting with fusing glass, slumping, using fibre board, decals and mouldmaking techniques or with a blended ceramic and glass technology bias. This is an ideal if you have previously been on a course or with some prior knowledge needing to refresh or if you want to develop your skills further your own creative practice.
You will have access to our dedicated glass workshop facilities where you can work sustainable with recycled glass, glass frits, confetti etc or construconstruct 3D with UV glues, use a grinder and finishing equipment. All aspects of working safely in a glass workshop will be addressed and you will be guided and mentored by an experienced tutor.

No prior knowledge is needed
The course is workshop based with practical weekly demonstrations and a personal project. Each learner will be given a booklet in which to compile written and visual evidence, this will be assessed along with the final outcomes.
There are opportunities to progress to other Agored levels and also the Level 2 Art and Design, Level 3 Art and Design, and the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design
