Graduation

Graduation is the formal presentation of awards and our opportunity to congratulate students in person. At Gower College Swansea we place great importance on our graduation and aim to make sure it’s an event that the students will never forget.

The 2019 Higher Education Graduation Ceremony took place on Wednesday 13 November at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. It was a special evening of celebration filled with entertainment provided by our performing arts and music students.

The date, time and location hasn’t been confirmed for 2020 yet but we have answered some frequently asked questions regarding the Graduation below.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register my attendance?

All successful graduates have been invited to the Graduation Ceremony from graduation@gcs.ac.uk

The email includes the following link to register their attendance and gown on the Ede & Ravenscroft booking system. Each graduate will have their own personal profile to register.

Can I order my robe on the booking system?


Yes. Ede & Ravenscroft supplies the robes for the ceremony so you can register and order your robe in the same place.

How many guests can I bring?


Two. You will need to add these guests when you register, including their dietary requirements and accessibility needs. If you want more guests to attend please contact graduation@gcs.ac.uk

How long does the ceremony last?


1½ hours. The date and time has not been agreed for 2020 yet.

Where can I park?


There is a car park outside the Brangwyn hall and there will be street parking in the surrounding area. If you have accessibility needs please contact us and we will reserve you a car park space close to the entrance.

Will there be refreshments provided?


Yes. There will be tea, coffee and cake provided.

What's in place for accessibility needs?


Please let us know what accessibility needs you or your guests might have. We can reserve a parking space outside Brangwyn hall’s main entrance.

We can ensure there is appropriate seating provided in the drinks reception and during the ceremony.

There are ramps and lifts for wheelchair users.

Can I have professional photos taken?


Ede & Ravenscroft organise the official photographs, so please order through Ede & Ravenscroft booking system when registering your place.

Can I attend next year instead?


The College will consider a request to graduate the following year in exceptional circumstances. Please contact us by e-mail.

What happens if I can't attend the ceremony?


If you notify us of your cancellation at least seven working days before the date of the Ceremony Ede and Ravenscroft will refund the payment you have made under the Hire Contract.

Do I need a ticket to enter?


Yes.

You’ll be issued an eTicket from the Ede & Ravenscroft booking system, which you can either print off or show on your phone’s screen.
