College launches HE+ and Seren Academy for 2019
Gower College Swansea has welcomed over 400 learners to the Gorseinon campus for the launch of the HE+ programme and Seren Academy for 2019/20. Gower College Swansea, at the invitation of and in collaboration with, the University of Cambridge, is the ‘hub’ institution in the Swansea HE+ Consortium, working with the seven state sixth-form schools in the City and County of Swansea.15

Gower College Swansea exam results 2019
Students at Gower College Swansea are celebrating an overall A Level pass rate of 99%, with 1205 separate exam entries. Of these passes, 35% were at grades A*-A, 61% were at A*-B and 82% were at A*-C. The overall pass rate at AS Level was 92%, with 67% of those passes being grades A - C and 44% being grades A - B. There were 2447 separate exam entries for AS.24

Taylor heads for Hay
Gower College Swansea student Taylor Williams has been awarded a place on the Hay Festival Beacons Project, a prestigious, free workshop residency for 16-18 year olds interested in writing. Taylor is currently studying A Levels in English Language, English Literature and Media Studies at the Gorseinon Campus.13

Pupils encouraged to ‘aim high’ at College event
Gower College Swansea recently organised a special event for Year 10 pupils from secondary schools across Swansea. The launch of the Welsh Government’s Seren Foundation programme at the Liberty Stadium enabled almost 400 young people to find out more about the range of higher education options they could explore after they complete their A Levels.01

Eleven students heading to Oxbridge
Eleven students from Gower College Swansea have been offered a place to study at Oxford or Cambridge University in 2019. These students are all following the Oxbridge Programme at the Gorseinon Campus, which aims to provide the best possible preparation for students aiming to progress to Oxford, Cambridge and other Russell Group universities.25
