Christmas comes to Llwyn y Bryn!Level 2 Art and Design students at Llwyn y Bryn have been busy designing and painting festive penguins in readiness for the 2017 Waterfront Winterland. The students were commissioned by the City and County of Swansea and their work will go on proud display at the Swansea ice rink from 17 November
Tales of the stage inspire new studentsA former student of Gower College Swansea has returned to the Llwyn y Bryn campus to encourage and motivate new students who are just embarking on their adventures in further education.
Festive penguins get a makeoverStaff and students at the Llwyn y Bryn campus were recently approached by the Cultural Services team at City and County of Swansea with a very special request - to redecorate and repaint the Waterfront Winterland Penguins for the children’s ice rink.
Olchfa pupils enjoy art and design tastersPupils from Olchfa Comprehensive School attended a recent art and design taster day at the Llwyn y Bryn campus. During the session, they were able to explore creative thought processes and discover how traditional design can be turned into commercial outcomes after being transferred onto t-shirts.
Students experience a flavour of the textile worldA group of Art and Design students from Llwyn y Bryn were fortunate enough to recently visit the Melin Tregwynt woollen mill in a remote part of the Pembrokeshire coast. This visit was organised by Gower College Swansea's Bilingual Champion Anna Davies and Enterprise Officer Lucy Turtle.
New student photographers appointedGower College Swansea has appointed two brand new student photographers to help capture the many activities and events that take place throughout the academic year.
Botanical garden inspire students and staffArt and Design students at the Llwyn y Bryn campus recently visited the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire to gather research and inspiration for their induction and first assignment based on ‘Natural Form’.
