Role model encourages students to aspire

Entrepreneur and business mentor George Savva recently returned to Gower College Swansea to deliver an inspirational career workshop to Level 1 Art and Design students - a visit organised by the college's Enterprise Officer Lucy Turtle via the Welsh Government’s Big Ideas Role Model programme.

National success for art students

Gower College Swansea students have performed exceptionally well in various art, design and technology competitions at the National Urdd Eisteddfod. Amy Spencer, Foundation Diploma Art and Design student, took First prize in the 'Fashion 19-25' category. Bethan Dowding, also on the FD Art and Design course, took First prize in the 'Create an Artefact 19-25' category

Saturday Art School exhibition

Join us this Saturday for a private viewing of the work of local school pupils who took part in the recent Saturday Art Schools at our Llwyn y Bryn campus.

College appoints Artists in Residence

Over the next three months, students at Gower College Swansea will get to work alongside three newly appointed artists-in-residence. In partnership with Mission Gallery, the college will host the artists at the Llwyn y Bryn campus from early March.

This exciting residency opportunity is a partnership between Gower College Swansea and Mission Gallery. With one residency beginning in February 2015 and the other May 2015, this is a fantastic opportunity for two emerging artists, from any discipline, to work with the resources and expertise at both organisations.

Free Saturday Art School at Llwyn y Bryn

School pupils from across the Swansea area are invited to take part in a FREE Saturday Art School programme starting 24 January. The four-week programme is open to two age groups - ages 11 to 13 and ages 14 to 16.

Global Entrepreneurship Week - where ideas come to life

Staff and students at Gower College Swansea have celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week with a range of events and activities across the campus. The week kicked off with a visit by Art and Design students to Swansea Business Gate and the film set of Da Vinci’s Demons, where they learned all about the kinds of employment opportunities that exist in the film and television industry.
