Geology rocks for A Level student Micah

A fascination with biology and an interest in animals were what set Gower College Swansea student Micah Mainwaring on the career path to becoming a palaeontologist. Micah is currently studying A Levels in biology, geology, maths and drama at the Gorseinon Campus. They are particularly interested in palaeobiology, which focuses on the ecology and life of prehistoric creatures.

Forensics students scoop medals

Forensics students scoop medals

Two Forensic Science students from Gower College Swansea have taken medals at recent SkillsCompetitionWales events. Cerys Brooks, who won Silver, and Cara Morgan, who won Bronze, are in the first year of their Level 3 BTEC course. Competing against nine other students from across Wales, they had to analyse evidence at a virtual crime scene and draw an accurate sketch.

Students enjoy US trip

In March, a group of 25 Gower College Swansea students undertook a successful trip to the USA. The students, from the AS and A Level Government and Politics and History courses, visited educational and cultural landmarks in New York City and Washington DC.
