Gower College Swansea students performed exceptionally well at the recent AoC National Championships in Nottingham. In the Men’s Table Tennis competition, team members Jarrett Zhang, Jacob Young and Matthew Jones collected the first of three Silver medals.

Pupils enjoy sunny sports festival

Over 500 pupils from primary schools across Swansea have taken part in Gower College Swansea’s annual Dragon Multi-Skills and Sport Festival at the Elba Sports Complex. In beautiful sunshine, the pupils were put through their paces in a range of activities such as hockey, rounders, football, netball, rugby and golf.

Saadia makes the sporting shortlist

Gower College Swansea student Saadia Abubaker has been revealed as a runner up in the prestigious AoC Sports Awards 2019 Not only is Saadia studying four A Levels at the Gorseinon Campus, she is also – on her own initiative -  working hard to break down cultural barriers in sport and to encourage more participation from young people from ethnic minorities.

Former student signs to Cardiff City

A former Gowerton School pupil and Gower College Swansea student has signed to Cardiff City. Danny Williams, who studied Level 3 Football, Coaching and Performance (Diploma in Sport) at the College as well as being a star member of its Football Academy, has signed a 2.5 year professional contract with the Premier League club.

An ex-student from Gower College Swansea has got her first Welsh rugby cap against France in the Six Nations Women’s tournament. Alex Callender, from Carmarthen, was surprised to come on so early in the game, on February 2, in the opening match of the series out in Montpellier.

College celebrates the Diversity Fayre 2018

Staff and students at Gower College Swansea have enjoyed another vibrant and successful Diversity Fayre. Among the entertainment on offer this year was African drumming, Brazilian martial arts, Bollywood Indian dance and street dance. Live music was also provided by students from the Llwyn y Bryn and Gorseinon Campuses.

Gower College Swansea is delighted to be named as a key sponsor of the Welsh Pro, event 4 UKPSA Pro Surf Tour. This event is part of the Nerf Clash of the Groms Series 2018, which aims to encourage the development of Wales’ junior surfers. Held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October at Rest Bay, Porthcawl, the Welsh Pro is set to attract the best surfers from across the UK.
