Sport Awards ceremony recognises exceptional achievements
Gower College Swansea has celebrated the success of its sport students with a Sports Awards evening at the Liberty Stadium.
Among those receiving recognition on the evening was Molly Davies Briskham who won the Gareth Jenkins Award for Sports Volunteer of the Year. She was presented with her award by former student Eli Walker from the Ospreys.
Digital Technology students take their winning project to the Senedd
As a result of winning the Best Working Model or Prototype category at the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) competition held at the Celtic Manor hotel in April, the successful Gower College Swansea team of Digital Technology students received an invitation to the Senedd to present the winning project at the Science Education in Wales event.
Students walk for charity!
Level 3 Health & Social Care students recently raised over £300 with a sponsored walk for Ty Hafan children's hospice.
Chemistry Olympians receive their awards
Gower College Swansea Chemistry students who competed in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s “Chemistry Olympiad” were presented with their certificates and trophies by Principal, Mark Jones, in recognition of their outstandng achievements.

Gower College Swansea student, Esther Giles, has secured employment with Steiner, the largest provider of quality spa and salon services on cruise ships. The company employs more than 2,000 people each year to work on luxury cruise ships across the world and is in a position to recruit the very best.
Rugby team wins British Colleges Plate final
The Gower College Swansea under 19's rugby team has won the British Colleges Plate final. The team secured the trophy after an impressive 65-15 victory over Worcester 6th form college at Burton RFC. This was the college’s second win in two years
Art competition brightens new build
The new teaching block on the Gorseinon campus of Gower College Swansea is progressing well and is scheduled for completion by the end of August, in readiness for the start of the new academic year.
Students rise to the challenge at All Wales Skills Final
Two Level 3 Health and Social Care students from Gower College Swansea excelled themselves at the recent All Wales Skills Final of the Advanced Competition for Caring, held at the Deeside campus of Coleg Cambria, coming second at the end of a full day of competition.
Pen-y-Fan charity walk
Congratulations to the group of Armed Forces Preparation Course students who raised over £1,800 for charity with a walk up South Wales’ highest peak. The walk to the top of Pen-y-Fan has raised the incredible amount which will be split between three charities - “Blood Bikes Wales”, “Wales Air Ambulance” and “Healing the Wounds” charities.
Cooking their way to the top!
Two students from the Independent Living Skills (ILS) department at Gower College Swansea amazed judges with their cookery skills at Bridgend College when six finalists battled for victory at the World Skills All-Wales Final. They were required to prepare, cook and present two plates of Mediterranean salad to judges as part of the Independent Cooking Competition.
