Open Event Expression of Interest (June 2022)

Privacy Notice 

To provide you with information about our open events we would like to collect some personal information from you. 

This privacy notice tells you what we want to collect as a data controller, why we need it, who we share it with, how long we will keep it for and your rights.

We as a College want to make sure that you don’t miss an opportunity to attend our open days. We also want to make sure that we are using effective methods of reaching people, and we want your consent to collect and use your information for these purposes. This is our lawful reason for processing your data. 

The data we are collecting for our open evenings for full time courses is: your name, your email address, your date of birth, the subject areas you are interested in, your current school and how you heard about our open event.

We will use the information you provide to us: 

  • to send you emails to remind you about the open event

  • to signpost you to further relevant information and events

  • to find out the best way to reach people and reach similar people to you with our digital advertisements 

  • to gauge interest for each subject area.

We have a responsibility to keep your data safe and secure and we will delete it by the end of October 2025.

The data we are collecting for our open evenings for part time and higher education courses is: your name, your email address and how you heard about our open event. 

We will use the information you provide to us:

  • to send you emails to remind you about the open event

  • to signpost you to further information and events, post event

  • to find out the best way to reach people and reach similar people to you with our digital advertisements

We have a responsibility to keep your data safe and secure and we will delete it by October 2025.

You have rights in relation to the information you provide us. These include the right to access that information and correct it if it is wrong. Depending on the circumstances and the information you have provided, you may have the right to object to the processing, restrict it or have it erased. Please contact marketing@gcs.ac.uk to request this.
