Course Overview
This ceramics course will give you the opportunity to experiment and develop various different hand building techniques to include slab building, coiling, press moulding, and throwing to create ceramic ware suitable for outdoors. You will have the opportunity to experience working with different clay bodies to include Terracotta and Stoneware to create outdoor planters, ornaments, pots, bird houses, etc. Finally you will be shown how to finish off your pieces by applying glaze and other surface applications using slip decoration, water erosion, sprig decoration, scraffitio and many more before firing your pieces in a kiln. All aspects of health and safety will be addressed and demonstrations shown by an experienced tutor.
This is an ideal start up course if you want to pursue your interest in ceramics or equally add to your creative skills and be mentored. The first sessions will be designed workshops and then you will be encouraged to design your own project.

No previous experience is needed.
