Course Overview
This course will encourage you to explore and experiment with a range of craft materials, tools and techniques for their safe use in mouldmaking. This is a real chance to get creative and experiment with moulding and casting in a variety of processes.
This is an ideal start up course for you if you would like to create multiple models/functional ware. You will have access to our dedicated mouldmaking facilities where you can use recyclable gelflex, plaster, create from recycled plastic functional moulds. All aspects of working with negative and positive space will be addressed including undercuts and the theory of multiple section moulds.
You will be guided and mentored by an experienced tutor. There will be opportunities to learn the fundamental methods of mouldmaking which can be be explored through casting medium such as clay, plaster, resin, wax, fabric, latex and other applications.

Course Delivery
This course is classroom based, for three hours a week for 10 weeks and is subject to continuous assessment.
