Course Overview
This qualification is targeted towards apprentices or trainees aspiring to become an advanced plumbing and heating engineer. It allows the candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing sector. It tests both practical and knowledge based skills in a realistic working environment.
When you have successfully completed this qualification you will be qualified to the advanced level. Please note that it is essential to have a plumbing work placement to study on this course (companies to be vetted and monitored to ensure safety of students as per Government policy).
We offer the following pathways at level three:
1. Gas Pathway where you will gain the level three qualification aligned to Gas Safe Registration.
2. Renewable Energy Pathway where you will gain the level three qualification aligned to the renewable energy sector within Building Serves Engineering.
Entry Requirements
To study on this qualification you would need to have successfully completed the Level 2 City and Guilds 6189 or EAL equivalent qualification.
Course Delivery
Delivered through a combination of classroom and workshop activities. Assessment is carried out through continuous assessment of practical activities, practical assessments and written assessments. There are also units assessed within the workplace.
Progression Opportunities
Successful students can progress to an Advanced Plumbing Apprenticeship at Level 3.
Additional Information
Cost: £550 (an ACS assessment forms part of the qualification at an additional cost of £1050 in the second year of this course which allows the candidate to be registered on the Gas Safe Register.)
