Experimenting with Sustainable Textile Techniques

Course Overview

While you explore this sustainable textile course, you will use sewing skills and design ideas and concepts, embedding them into creating and designing a sustainable textile project brief.

Working with your peers, sharing ideas and feedback, you will work to a tailored brief to create and make a sustainable textile design outcome.

You will document your work in a mandatory booklet and samplie sustainable, cultural, historical and ethical textile methods such as: natural dying, block printing, silk screen printing, up-cycling, boro-mending and more!

You will take these new techniques and ideas and build a body of sampled pieces which represent the development towards an overall final up-cycled / sustainable / recycled textile piece.
