We aim to explore and gather fabrics we have naturally embedded into our lives e.g. old curtains or old denim, and give them some more life by reviving them into new everyday items such as pencil cases, make-up bags, toiletry bags, cushion covers.
We look at quick and easy up-cycling methods which include re-constructing old pieces of fabric into something new using sustainability as a core to our design ethic. All the while, you will also explore and develop your sewing machine skills.
Using excellent resources within our facilities, we will combine these with second hand and other old or used fabrics we have around our homes, using them to create new and exciting things.
This course is a great course to gain the skills desired to progress onto other textiles avenues within our College.
