Fashion and Textiles Club (Gold Arts Award)

Course Overview

The Fashion and Textiles Club offers young people the opportunity to engage with a wide range of fashion and textiles experiences to enhance and build on their existing skills.

The Gold Arts Award is a Level 3 qualification open to young people aged 14 to 25. The award has 16 points on the UCAS tariff.

Course Delivery

Learners will be based in our state of the art Fashion and Textiles Centre at Llwyn y Bryn. Using traditional and contemporary practices learners will produce exciting outcomes to support their current and future studies in fashion and textiles.

Learners will extend their own fashion and textiles practice through a range of workshops including traditional and digital print making, fashion drawing, fashion design, pattern cutting and garment construction, fabric manipulation and surface pattern design, styling and photo shoot concepts.

The Fashion and Textiles Club will culminate in a public exhibition of learners work and provide opportunities for the young people to engage with the wider fashion and textiles community.
