Overview

3D modelling software can be helpful within a variety of different sectors. It can be used in 3D printing, games, film and VFX, concept art, 3D animation, product design, architectural design, automobile design, advertising etc

Within this course you will learn the following 3D software skills and techniques:

  • 3D Modelling and Geometric Theory
  • Polygonal Modelling
  • NURBS Modelling
  • UV Unwrapping
  • Basic texturing using Photoshop

Entry Requirements

No prior skills/experience are needed for this course, however any prior use of creative applications/software such as Photoshop/After Effects/Blender will be advantageous.

Course Delivery

The course will be delivered in class and will be assessed on workshop based tasks undertaken within the classroom setting. The course will be 10 weeks long at two hours per week.

Progression Opportunities

The skills and techniques learned on this course will help you to progress into employment in a variety of sectors such as: 3D product design, concept art, games design, film and VFX, 3D animation, architectural design, automobile design and many more. There is also the opportunity to progress onto a Foundation Degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics currently run at the Tycoch Campus.
