Introduction to Ceramics

Course Overview

This introductory course to ceramics will encourage you to explore a range of decorative and construction techniques using clay. You will be introduced to ceramic glazes and encouraged to experiment to develop your own unique outcomes. Using a kiln will be a key part of the course and you will be shown how to prepare and use a kiln for firing your work.

No prior skills or experience required as this is an introductory course.

Course Delivery

This course is workshop based. The course is delivered through a range of practical workshops - three hours a week over 10 weeks - and is subject to continuous assessment.

Progression Opportunities

There are several opportunities including other part time courses, Level 2 Art and Design, Level 3 Art and Design, and the Foundation Diploma Art and Design.
