Making Fabrics for Interiors and Fashion

Course Overview

This course will extend your sewing skills and encourage you to explore new techniques to produces textiles to create a furnishings or fashion outcome.

Learners will produce a series of samples by employing a range of techniques, adapting the techniques to create unique pieces to suit their individual taste.

The course will take place in our Fashion and Textiles Centre which houses pattern cutting tables, industrial and domestic sewing machines and a full range of professional garment production equipment.


Entry Requirements

This Level 3 course requires a basic level of sewing skills in order for learners to successfully complete the qualification.

Course Delivery

Learners document their product evidence in a booklet for assessment. The course runs over a week and is taught in the fashion studio. The classes start at 10am and finish as 3pm Monday to Friday.

Progression Opportunities

Learners could progress to other part time courses in the Autumn term or consider full time courses at the Llwyn y Bryn Campus i.e. Level 3 Art and Design, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.
