Introduction to Sewing (Sewing Machine Skills for Fashion and Textiles)

Course Overview

This course will explore the use of a sewing machine to create textiles suitable for fashion. Students will be introduced to using a sewing machine and over locker and the various techniques they could employ to produce a range of samples.

tudents will work in the state-of-the-art Fashion and Textiles Centre and studios, having access to a range of industry standard equipment.

No prior experience is necessary

Course Delivery

This course is classroom based, for three hours a week and is subject to continuous assessment.

Progression Opportunities

As well as considering other part time course, there are several full time opportunities including Level 2 Art and Design, Level 3 Art and Design, Foundation Diploma Art and Design and FdA Fashion and Textile Design.

Additional Information

Most materials will be supplied, there may be a need to purchase fabric and thread which will be discussed during the course.
