Overview

Duration: Two years

Study Level 4 HNC in Applied Sciences (Chemistry) at Gower College Swansea. Where you will study organic, physical and inorganic chemistry with laboratory techniques and applications in pollution control, water quality, analysis and regulations.

All units are taught by specialist lecturers. The units are assessed using a variety of assignments. Due to the focus on assessments in this course there are many opportunities to undertake practical activities, which will help develop scientific skills.

Level 3 qualifications in science or equivalent e.g. A-levels, BTEC.

Course Delivery

 The course runs one day a week for two years. Course delivery is based in laboratories, online and in the workplace. Assessments are based on written assignments, presentations, laboratory work and work-based projects and graded at pass, merit or distinction.

Progression Opportunities

   Students have progressed on to Year 2 of BSc Chemistry at University. RSciTech status is facilitated for NVQ students.
