Overview

This level 2 course is designed to be an introduction to computerised payroll software packages in the UK.

Study details

Hands on computer work combining theory and practical computerised payroll including:

  • Production of payslips
  • Entering staff details
  • Changes to tax rates, NI rates, SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP
  • Holiday planners
  • Pension schemes
  • Variations to payroll including overtime, bonuses, commissions, expenses
  • P11’s, P32’s, P35’s, P45’s, etc.
  • Year-end calculations and HMRC form completion. 

Key information

Ideally, students should have one or two GCSE Grades A-C however, common sense and an aptitude for numbers and estimation are more important. Open to students of all ages. 
 

23 week part-time delivery. 

Wednesdays (6-9pm) at Sketty Hall Business School

Assessment:

  • Continuous assessment throughout the course
  • No formal examinations. 

10 week part-time delivery:

Wednesdays (6pm-9pm) at Sketty Hall Business School.

Assessment:

  • Continuous Assessment throughout the course
  • No formal examinations.
