Accreditation for Computer Services team

Gower College Swansea has become the first organisation in Wales to have its Computer Services staff accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT.

This comes after a recent assessment of all technicians and technical staff within the department.

“The BCS has recognised that we are committed to promoting the professional development of our IT Technicians who, having each met the required standards, have successfully gained their professional accreditation,” says Computer Services Manager Richard Thorne.

Computer Services staff are now recognised as professionally registered IT Technicians (RITTech).

“The RITTech accreditation suitably reflects and recognises the professionalism and commitment that my team demonstrates in offering Gower College Swansea’s staff and students the best possible IT experience,” adds Richard. “I’m proud to say that ours was the first team in any college to gain this new professional accreditation - one which my team are justly proud to display.”
