Practical skills pay off for Chemistry students

A team of AS Level Chemistry students from Gower College Swansea were recently named runners-up at a Royal Society of Chemistry practical competition held at Swansea University.

Miles Keller-Jenkins, Isabel Davies and Cerys McDowell, competing against nine other teams to perform a complex titration and use a UV/Vis spectrophotometer, were highly commended for the accuracy of their work.

"I was very impressed with their maturity and their ability to apply the skills they have learned at Gower College Swansea to a different practical scenario," says lecturer Richard Evans.
