Winning students confirmed for Birmingham Big Bang

A team of Digital Technology students from Gower College Swansea has been selected to represent Wales in the final of the Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Competition.

This follows their exceptional performance at the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) finals, where they took the top prize in the 'Best College in Wales' category.

Cody Wilks, Sara Vonk, David Osbourne and Kaleb Thomas have worked closely with Tongfang Global (THTF) over several months to design and develop a prototype for ‘smart TVs’.

Digital Technology students take their winning project to the Senedd

As a result of winning the Best Working Model or Prototype category at the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) competition held at the Celtic Manor hotel in April, the successful Gower College Swansea team of Digital Technology students received an invitation to the Senedd to present the winning project at the Science Education in Wales event. The students represented successful vocational learning practices and attracted considerable interest.
