Whether you’re looking to boost your employability, change the direction of your career, update your skills or simply learn something new, Gower College Swansea has a part-time course for you. And better yet, some are completely free of charge.

Get creative with courses in screen printing, floristry or photography. Try a trade with beginners’ bricklaying, carpentry, plastering or plumbing courses. Or level up in your career with various accountancy, social media or coding classes.

Along with engineering, cookery, counselling, languages, beauty and sports courses - you really will be spoilt for choice.

Fusing a new future: from the classroom to the marketplace

Retired primary school teacher Sian Charlton was enrolled onto a ten week glass techniques course by her daughters as a Mothers' Day gift.

"I have always enjoyed crafting, but glass was a medium that I had never worked with before. I was slightly nervous going into the first class, but was given a great welcome by everyone," she explained.

"The teacher, Ali, is really inspiring and teaches us new techniques every week. And I have fallen in love with glass so much that I now have a microwave kiln at home.

"I have sold my work at various craft markets, and a highlight this year was having my necklaces exhibited at Mission Gallery. If you are considering a part-time course at the College – I’d say to go for it. You never know where it could take you."

Multiply your skills – free numeracy courses at the College

The College is also proud to launch a new programme, offering free numeracy courses for adults over 19 who either live or work in the Swansea area.

These courses aim to support individuals in building confidence with day-to-day challenges requiring an understanding of maths and numeracy.

Explore essential topics such as personal budgeting, borrowing and saving money, debt management, cooking on a budget, spreadsheet techniques, and more.
