Course Overview
This course is designed for cycling enthusiasts and aims to give a good level of mechanical ability to maintain a bicycle.
It will give you the confidence to carry out repairs and servicing whilst also teaching you when you need to see a more experienced trained technician.
The course covers:
- Headsets
- Bottom brackets
- Drive trains
- Gear set-up
- Brakes
- Hubs
- Tyres & tubes
This course will be externally assessed by a Cytech accredited provider, Activate Cycle Academy to Cytech one. Cytech one course is made up of two parts – theory and technical. You will do the theory at home - a link will be sent to you to work through. You will then attend College for the two-day technical training element.
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements.
Course Delivery
The course will be delivered in our new specialised facility over two days.
The course will be assessed to Cytech one by an external accredited assessor from Activate Cycle Academy, Oxford.. This date for the assessment session will be given during the training.
Progression Opportunities
You could progress onto Professional Bicycle Maintenance Level two.
Additional Information
A bicycle and tools will be provided for the duration of the course.
