Students come to Llwyn y Bryn to explore a diverse range of areas including art and design, fashion, fine art, graphics, media, photography and music.

The campus provides students with 21st century facilities set within the beautiful early-20th century former Girls’ High School building. The campus features specialist art studios, digital darkrooms, two fully equipped recording studios and five music practice rooms. Llwyn y Bryn is based in Uplands and is within easy walking distance of Swansea city centre.

Llwyn y Bryn is also home to our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and ABE (Adult Basic Education) teams.

Basic Skills

Essential Skills

We can help improve your skills in reading, writing, spelling and working with numbers. All of which can help you:

  • Gain a qualification or gain confidence
  • Complete job application forms
  • Help your children with homework
  • Pass your driving theory test
  • Get the job you want

In our Improving English and Maths Skills classes you can learn the way you want to with your own learning plan. You can attend short sessions or work in small groups and there are opportunities for one-to-one sessions. You can also achieve a qualification if you need to.

Students can work towards essential skills qualifications in Communication, Application of Number or ICT (using computers). The qualifications can range from the most basic level to Level 2 (GCSE equivalent).

These courses can be a first step back into education, can improve job prospects or simply help parents to support their children in school. All essential skills courses are FREE.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

We offer accredited courses, Entry 1 through to Level 2. These courses run for 35 weeks, 14 hours per week. They improve language skills and extend your vocabulary, enabling progression onto other courses.
