Overview

Motion graphics is all around us. It can be found in advertising, social media, TV title sequences, music videos, the list goes on. As we grow deeper into the digital age, the demand for motion graphics continues to grow. Motion graphics is a fantastic medium for communicating information, however your work will never stand out from the crowd unless you really know what your doing!

By completing this course, you will build an arsenal of motion graphics skills enabling you to create proffesional looking motion graphics work. This course is structured through bitesize teaching followed by an assignment you must complete. This ensures that, as well as getting taught how to create polished animations, you are also encouraged to independently put these skills into practice.

  • Introduction to using a graph editor for animation
  • Thorough explanation and use of keyframe Interpolation
  • 12 principles of animation
  • Essential compositional skills

Key information

No prior skills/experience are needed for this course, however any prior use of creative applications/software such as Photoshop or Illustrator will be advantageous.

The course will be delivered in class and will be assessed on workshop based tasks undertaken within the classroom setting. The course will be 10 weeks long at two hours per week.

The skills and techniques learned on this course will help you to progress into employment within a range of industries such as advertising, social media marketing, content creation, film and TV, animation etc. This course also gives you the required skills to study a Foundation Degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics which is offered at our Tycoch Campus.
