This course will develop your sewing skills and encourage you to experiment with a range of sewing processes and materials.
You will develop a range of sewing samples to support future projects. You will produce a finished outcome reflecting the skills you have developed whilst on the course. You will have access to our state-of-the-art fashion and textiles studios and equipment which includes a laser cutter, digital textiles printer and textiles design software.
Term 1 will focus on building your sewing skills
Term 2 will extend your sewing and dressmaking pattern knowledge
Term 3 will introduce you to pattern cutting
No previous experience necessary, just an interest in the subject area. Learners would benefit from attending each term to build skills in preparation for the term two and term three courses, although this is not a barrier to attending each term as a standalone course.
This course is delivered in the art and design studios at the Llwyn y Bryn campus. During the course learners will complete a booklet of outcomes. This is assessed in order to gain your certificate for the qualification.
Progression from any part time course could offer a pathway to full time courses in art and design. For adult learners considering a creative career, the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course could provide a progression route for this.
