Course Overview
Swedish Body Massage is a part time programme providing training and assessment in the methodology of massage. It is based upon the original Swedish techniques as regularized at the end of the 19th century.
You will study:
- Client care and communication
- Monitor and maintain health and safety practice
- Provide body massage (inclusive of anatomy and physiology)
The course covers a range of practical assessments along with written assignments and external tests. A portfolio of evidence will be produced.

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for mature students with a good general education. You must have a positive attitude for the therapy and an ability to work as a member of a professional team. A well presented personal appearance is essential. Students should be 18 years and over.
Course Delivery
You will attend college one evening per week between 6pm and 9pm for 34 weeks. You will be expected to do a minimum of three hours per week of independent study.
Progression Opportunities
Upon successful completion you can progress onto other holistic therapy courses, full time FD Advanced Therapies and Spa Management or beauty therapy courses. Employment opportunities can include health spas, salons, cruise liners, working abroad, etc.
Additional Information
Learners are required to purchase a kit and uniform as part of their course.
