Overview

This apprenticeship is suitable for those managing teams or projects, who have a responsibility for achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives as part of their organisational strategy.

Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to improve individual, team and organisational performance, support and develop individuals to manage strategic change, as well as develop skills in business processes that could improve organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Creating and delivering operational plans
  • Managing projects
  • Leading and managing teams
  • Managing change
  • Financial and resource management
  • Talent management
  • Coaching and mentoring

  • Operations manager

Key information

Maths and English functional skills at Level 2 are required, but can be completed as part of the apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship will be delivered through a series of workshops covering all 10 mandatory units. The sessions will be delivered online as a half day every other week, over 20 sessions. If face-to-face delivery is required, there will be one session a month for 10 months (attendance is mandatory). 

Following the sessions, time will be spent working on evidence collection, knowledge questions, and preparation for the end-point assessment.

Delivery can be face-to-face or remote.

Optional units

There are no optional units for this apprenticeship.

There is an option to complete a Level 3/5 Diploma alongside the apprenticeship. No additional training is required but there will be additional work to complete throughout the duration of the course.

This will be at an additional cost as it is not covered by the Levy payment.

The apprenticeship will be assessed through a two-point end-point assessment with an external end-point assessment, which will include:

  • Presentation and Q&A
  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
  • Project proposal
