Accommodation for International Students

Choosing suitable accommodation is such an important part of your study experience at Gower College Swansea. We are pleased to offer two excellent options for our international students: Homestay or Student Residence. Each option provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment, catering to different preferences and needs.

Homestay

Our homestay hosts give students the opportunity to live with a local family. This option allows students to gain an authentic insight into British life and to improve their English.

Students have their own private bedroom with storage, study space and WiFi plus a key to the house. Breakfast and evening meals are also provided each day.

Our homestay families are carefully selected, vetted and monitored by our International Team; following our high standards of safeguarding, all family members over 18 have successfully completed a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.

The host family could be a couple or an individual, some have children and some have pets. Each host has a profile which includes details of their profession, family members, interests and house location.

Many of our hosts are very experienced and have enjoyed sharing their homes with students from all over the world, often keeping in touch with one another for many years.

After your College Induction, you and your host family will go through a Homestay Agreement Form, stating the roles and responsibilities of the family, yourself and the College which will be signed by all parties. The agreement is important and helpful for everyone as you settle into to your new home environment.
