ESOL Skills for Life Level 1 (Level 1)

Course Overview

This intermediate to upper intermediate course is designed to build upon the students good working knowledge of the English language in useful every day situations.

A range of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills will be taught.

Entry Requirements

Students do not require any formal qualifications. Candidates should be at intermediate level.

Progression Opportunities

Students can progress to various courses across the college, Cambridge examinations, employment.

Additional Information

Students will be required to purchase textbooks, materials e.g. paper/files etc


Monday to Friday 16 hours a week with IT and Citizenship. A portfolio of work must be kept by each candidate.

Speaking and Listening can be assessed seperately, for the full award, students must take all elements when ready.

A portfolio will be developed by each candidate for assessment at the end of the course.
