A College first for Chinese students

Cambridge success!

Two of our Chinese students, Fuhao Song and Han Xuanyuan, have recently been accepted to study at the University of Cambridge.

These students achieved an amazing 7 A* grades between them.

Fuhao will study Mathematics at Homerton College and Han will study Computer Science at Churchill College.

‘I have really enjoyed my time at Gower College Swansea," says Fuhao, who comes from Dalian in north-eastern China. "The student support on offer and the quality of lectures are excellent and the overall atmosphere is very friendly. The Oxbridge Programme helped me so much with my application to many top UK universities and, in particular, for my application to study Mathematics at Cambridge."

As for what happens after Cambridge, Fuhao would like to further his studies to PhD level and then pursue a career in mathematics or astrophysics.

"My experience of Gower College Swansea has been very positive and enjoyable," adds Han, who is originally from Beijing. "The teaching has been very effective and has helped me and my peers to achieve amazing academic results. The College facilities are superb and have allowed me to reach my fullest academic potential. In addition, I would not have been able to gain offers from the world's top universities without the outstanding support provided by the HE+ / Seren programme and its organisers at the College - Felicity Padley and Neris Morris. After I graduate from university, I plan to launch a tech start-up and find success in the corporate world."
