Gower College Swansea was delighted to welcome Sioned Williams, Senedd Regional Member, to the Tycoch campus recently.
During her tour of the campus, Sioned visited the College’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Independent Living Skills (ILS) departments, as well as Learner Services and the Library team. There, staff were able to showcase the various levels of support we offer to students such as advice on funding, pastoral care, enrichment and wellbeing, and neurodiversity.
Accompanied by Principal Kelly Fountain, Sioned called into the College’s Sport Centre where she enjoyed a few games of pickleball with first year ILS students as part of their Active Wellbeing curriculum.
The visit ended with a trip to the Green Hwb, where Sioned was shown around the fantastic new classrooms/workrooms and the outdoor space utilised by learners on landscaping and horticulture courses.
“We were really pleased to welcome Sioned to the Tycoch campus to meet with our staff and students,” says Kelly. “Supporting all of our learners is a top priority at Gower College Swansea so it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase what we do - and do really well - in terms of academic and pastoral care across all our subject areas and pathways.”
