UPDATE Important information re: Tycoch Campus 28 September

Further to our update last week on the identified RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) that is present in a small, isolated area of the Tycoch campus of Gower College Swansea, structural engineers have now completed a detailed review of the campus. 

As a result we have decided to close 2 rooms – one a classroom and one a staffroom – on the building’s D floor – whilst remedial work is undertaken. 

The review also identified a number of post construction penetrations in the corridor of the top floor which requires a follow up. Whilst we are undertaking this work we have been advised to put a number of temporary props in place.
